The Royal Palace is the official residence of His Majesty the King. The offices of the King and Queen, along with those of the Royal Court, are located here. The general public has access to the Banqueting Rooms, the Guest and Bernadotte Apartments, the Apartments of Orders of Chivalry, the Hall of State and the Royal Chapel. You will also admire the Treasury with its displays of royal regalia and Gustav III’s Museum of Antiquities.
The Changing of the Guard, complete with military band, usually takes place in the Outer Courtyard on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays (daily from mid May through August). On weekends, the ceremony takes place at 12.10 and on Sundays and public holidays at 1.10pm. The new guard normally leaves the Army Museum 25 minutes before the ceremony.
